Loras Establishes Alpha Phi Sigma Chapter

The criminal justice program at Loras College established a chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma (APS). Loras becomes the 597th chapter of the international honor society that recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of criminal justice.

Kenny Loui, Ph.D., assistant professor of criminal justice, was the driving force behind Loras’ chapter affiliation. As a graduate student at Nova Southeastern University, Loui was a member of APS and earned several scholarships as a result. He wanted his students to have access to

After a year-long process to earn chapter certification, Loui will serve as the chapter advisor for the ten founding student members.

Founded in 1942 at Washington State University, APS is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
