The Rev. Fr. Dr. Adrian Letz was ordained to the Holy Diaconate by the hand of His Grace Bishop Timothy of Hexamilion on May 6, 2023. Letz is assigned to St. Elias the Prophet Greek Orthodox Church in Dubuque. St. Elias has been without permanently assigned clergy for several years and Deacon Adrian will serve the parish with visiting area Orthodox priests on Saturdays. As he continues under the tutelage of area priests, the goal is for eventual ordination to the priesthood so that St. Elias can celebrate services on Sundays.
Letz is a physician specializing in allergy/immunology in Dubuque. He and his wife, Petronela, have been happy to call Dubuque home for seven years. Deacon Adrian completed the two-year Diaconate Program at Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2022, received an MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2002, and holds an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He served in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps for nine years and held the rank of major.
